Midweek morning off the bus to reunite Class hasn't started but I've been ready since last night Some may say it's a dead old town but this room brings it alive Share a coke, share a story, I've arrived. Belinda hands me a brush and nods to Karolyne When I first came here I couldn't draw a straight line Tim is in his apron making coffee for the patrons Open up, make a space, our time to shine. Arts Together We’ll sew our hearts together Weather the storm together One more time No apology, we don’t need an excuse Arts Together is the family you choose This blank canvas seems intent to overwhelm But amidst the chatter the paint brush takes the helm When you're in good company the time passes so swiftly And the artwork seems to paint all by itself. This wallpaper, these puzzles will forever stay the same These four walls never vary it's the residents who change Enter with some trepidation, paint away that old frustration I'm sure there's no place I would rather be.

Your mind's running in circles You're dead on your feet Every day feels the same You're like Robinson Crusoe washed up on the street Living with the fear and the shame Some days you feel welcome on somebody's sofa Other times you're told to move on You're just a few quid away from running out of hope And looking for a place to call home Then you crooss the bridge over the River Avon To the safest haven Where they care what your name is And behind the door you find this new perspective You find kindness and a cooked breakfast CHORUS Because there you got a place You're not just another face You're not just another rebel without a clue At Doorway you're never alone So come on down to Doorway Come on through Everyone here's got story to tell Even clean and smart with Adidas shoes on It might look from outside That you're fine and you're well But you need people to see that you're human And the songs that we busk Are all songs about hope Every little things' gonna to be alright It's the support that we get here It helps us to cope At Doorway football on a Monday night And it's always there Like a tattoo or an earring Like the angels volunteering They just keep persevering And behind the door You can find your inner artist Cos hope is where the heart is for sure Oh times are hard but you'll never be judged But one's gonna drop you like a stone A new start, a hug and a mug

I’ve been walking around this old town, for way too long But I’ve heard of a little place down the back streets, is the place to go. Its full of friendship and laughter and warm infectious smiles. They say they sing like a load of old drunks after a night out on the tiles. So I knocked on the back door with hesitation, not knowing what I would find. It was a tall man with wide eyes and a kind smile, that beckoned me inside. He said ‘My dear we’re not what you’d expect, we don’t just sit around with blankets on our lap, But with a little humanity and a lot of respect, we might show you a good time’. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. At Mill Street Club – You won’t believe where they’ve been. At Mill Street Club – They treat you like a king. At Mill Street Club – They sing a ding-a-ling. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. Sitting to my left there was a lady, with a cheeky glint in her eye. She said ‘Yes they might call us crazy, It’s a madhouse here, I’m not gonna lie’. Theres always time for some drums, some rock and roll and some air guitar. Have a little fun, don’t take yourself so seriously, cuz you wont get very far. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. At Mill Street Club – You won’t believe where they’ve been. At Mill Street Club – They treat you like a king. At Mill Street Club – They sing a ding-a-ling. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. They’ve got a few years on you and me, but they can teach us a thing or two. If you could live your life differently, I asked them, what would they do? Don’t hold grudges, No regrets, Live a good life, and pay your respects, Stop your worries, Smile a little more, Love your family, Keep the wolf from the door. Don’t hold grudges, No regrets, Just be grateful, for all you can get, Stop your worries, Smile a little more, Love your family, Welcome friends at your door, Love your family, and welcome friends at your door. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. At Mill Street Club – You won’t believe where they’ve been. At Mill Street Club – They treat you like a king. At Mill Street Club – They sing a ding-a-ling. At Mill Street Club – You get out what you put in. Mill Street Club.

I just said something A simple comment It started a tidal wave of hate It drowned me In a pool of emotions And left me feeling defeated There’s a reason why I don’t post online There’s a million things I can’t control There is good and bad, like ying and yang I just don’t want to fall down the hole When I change schools or move away I look for a positive influence I can stay in touch And keep connected And stream good vibes

You, you left your mark on me Now, now is the time you leave You grow, you really thought you broke me Look now I'm whole Much better with just me So goodbye I'm finally free I'm better without you Better without you No more lies now I can speak I'm stronger without you Stronger without you You, thought I was frail and weak wrong, you never knew the real me Yes I died, I cried I fell own to the floor But now I'm new, much stronger than before So goodbye I'm finally free I'm better without you Better without you All I've been through Meant to be cos I'm stronger without you Stronger without you I'm standing on my own I'm finally fighting back Now I've found my voice Now it really feels right So goodbye I'm finally free I'm better without you Better without you All I've been through Meant to be cos I'm stronger without you Stronger without you So goodbye I'm finally free I'm better without you Better without you No more lies now I can speak I'm better without you Better without you

Here in Stepping Stones We can laugh and play It's a lovely way to spend the day with our friends Oh, oh, oh. We take a small step and then a big leap We clap our hands and wiggle our feet We share this time as we sing our song Move to the rhythm of the beat Everyone here is unique We're proud, we're strong it's good to be me It's a happy, friendly community Moving to the rhythm of our beat And we go home at the end of the day It's not goodbye cos we'll be back soon to play another day Oh, Oh Here in Stepping Stones We can laugh and play It's a lovely way to spend the day with our friends Oh, oh, oh.

Do you, ever feel Like getting out? Like there’s, an answer To be found? When you look up And the skies are full of rain And you’re waiting For the sun to come again (It’s alright) CHORUS What if You looked for the end of the rainbow oh oh What if You’ve gone as far as you can go-oh-oh And you’ve searched high And you’ve searched low For another way For a pot of gold What if the end of the rainbow Was right here VERSE 2 Stop, take a minute And look around (We’re here together so let’s get together get together) New shoots, coming up From underground (We’re here together so let’s stay forever, get together) When you look up And you wanna run for cover Just wait tomorrow You’ll see a sky that’s full of colour BRIDGE Come on now, let’s celebrate, celebrate Come on now, it’s not too late, not too late Can’t have a rainbow without a little rain But it’s time for multicolour now we’re done with the grey

about

Visible Voices is a project run by Trowbridge charity Wiltshire Rural Music. The aim was to send a songwriter into a session with a vulnerable group and come out with a song two hours later. The result is an album of very varied and wonderful music written by the community, and people who never thought they had it in them to be a songwriter! From a homeless shelter to a special needs nursery, an alzheimers memory cafe to a local prison, Visible Voices promises to be an uplifting musical experience, written very much from the heart.
